Better Solutions
We don't always have to use disposable plastics. Using better alternatives will help stop problems like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch
and keep plastic from littering beaches and taking away the lives of innocent animals. These alternatives will greatly decrease the use of oil, which could be used for other things. If we use these alternatives, we will be able to help save the ecosystems and environments lost to the negative effects of plastic. Other than those listed below, there are many other things we can do to solve the problems that are greatly affecting our ecosystems.

Recycling
Today, we dump more than 100 million tons (90.719 million metric tons) of trash into landfills annually. [source: howstuffworks] By recycling our plastics, we will keep our plastic problems from growing. It will be remade into something new, and it will take fewer natural resources to make something.

Making other people aware
Even if you are regularly recycling and using biodegradable alternatives, there are dozens of other people who still use disposable plastics. Tell a friend or family member. Spread the word. Convince people to contribute to the efforts of lessening our plastic problems.

Plastic Crafts
